Team Media Portal its network scan feature doesn't always work well. Especially when multiple network IDs are broadcasted over the cable network. In that case it is handy to use a custom transponderlist to provide the frequencies to scan for to Team Media Portal.

To do this, open up notepad or any other (xml) editor and copy/paste in the following sample:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<ArrayOfDVBCTuning xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
  <DVBCTuning>
    <Frequency>313000</Frequency>
    <ModulationType>Mod64Qam</ModulationType>
    <SymbolRate>6875</SymbolRate>
  </DVBCTuning>
</ArrayOfDVBCTuning>

Repeat the DVBCTuning section for each transponder you want to be scanned.

Place the file inside of the dvbc (cable), dvbs (satellite) or dvbt (terrestrial / digitenne) subfolders of the folder:

C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters

Start the filename with the name of your country (i.e. The Netherlands) followed by a dot and then the name you want to use to identify your transponder file. For example: The Netherlands.Ziggo NID 9004.xml
This will show your transponderfile in Team Media Portal setup under The Netherlands:

You can now scan for the channels in Team Media Portal setup and each transponder will be scanned.

You can download a complete sample file for the Cogas Ziggo cable network in Oldenzaal (network ID 9004) here:

The_Netherlands.Ziggo_NID_9004.zip (last updated 9th of March 2012)
