If you want to transfer ISO images to your VMware server so you can easily use them to install a new virtual server from, there are several ways to do so. One method is using the SCP method. The recommended way is using the Datastore Browser which I will describe below.

  1. Install vSphere Client if you haven't done so already
  2. Start vSphere Client and connect to your VMware server
  3. Make sure your VMware server to which you want to copy the ISO is selected on the left and click on the Configuration tab at the right

  4. Within the Hardware section click on the Storagelink

  5. Right click on the disk to which you want to transfer the ISO and click on Browse Datastore

  6. Click on the icon in the toolbar to create a new folder to store your ISO

  7. Select the newly created folder in the tree structure and click on the upload button in the toolbar followed by a click on Upload File

  8. Select the file you want to upload and the upload process will start
